Good to know before you come
- Staying more than 183 days in a calendar year usually makes you a Spanish tax resident — plan this deliberately, not by accident.
- Most long-stay landlords will ask for an NIE, proof of income and a deposit; having the paperwork ready wins the flat.
- August is quiet for business and busy for beaches; January to March is the cheapest and most underrated time to try the city.
- Málaga's airport has direct connections across Europe, and the C-1 train runs from the terminal into the city in twelve minutes.
- Coworking is concentrated around the centre, Soho and the Muelle Uno side of the port; the tech offices are mostly in Teatinos and the Parque Tecnológico.

Can you help me register as autónomo?
Yes — we walk you through the registration with Hacienda and social security, what the monthly quota will be for your income band, and the invoicing and quarterly obligations that come with it. For complex tax situations we bring in a gestor or tax adviser.
How long can I stay without becoming a resident?
EU citizens can stay but must register if they remain more than three months. Non-EU visitors are generally limited to 90 days in any 180 under Schengen rules. Tax residency is a separate question and usually turns on the 183-day test.
Is a working-holiday package just a holiday rental?
No. We select for the things that matter when you are working — a proper desk and chair, tested internet, a room you can take a call in, and a location you can live in for months rather than days.
Can I try Málaga before deciding?
That is the point of these packages. Come for a month or a season, work as normal, and decide with actual experience. If you stay, we handle the paperwork then.
